Maggie Cowan, HFII Swim Coach

About Maggie: My all time favorite color is purple. I could eat Mexican food everyday. I love Chipotle and Starbucks more than anything. If you want to win over my heart, I drink a Vanilla Breve Latte! Just Kidding. On the weekends you can most likely find me hanging out with my fiancé, Taylor, or at dinner with my girlfriends. I love to read gossip magazines at the pool but lately I have been spending too much money on wedding magazines. I love spending time with my dog, and watching TV with my mom; our favorite show is Grey’s Anatomy.

As for my Swim career, I was a Homestead Farm II Barracuda for 10 years. I have the medal to prove it! I spent most of the last few years on the team sleeping in…oops. I also swam for Arapahoe High School for 4 years. Senior year my dream came true… I made STATE in the 100 Breaststroke. The last three years of high school I swam for Aquawolves. The coach, Jimmy became my biggest supporter and greatest mentor. I owe my state qualifying to his constant support and love. After high school, I went to Fort Lewis College and left swimming behind to become an avid skier and elementary school teacher. I recently finished student teaching at Franklin Elementary School in 5th grade, and hoping to become a fabulous teacher next year!

I am so excited to be back on the Barracuda team coaching the 15-18’s and the 7-8 year olds. I can’t wait to break records, achieve goals, and for the many laughs!
